This video is about President Donald Trump’s press conference along with President Moon Jae-in in Seoul, Korea on June 29, 2019. Initially, President Moon Jae-in welcomes President Trump to the Republic of Korea. He exclaims that the Korean Peninsula with President Trump has become the land that is most noted on Earth. He says that since the Declaration of Armistice, in 66 years time, the United States and North Korea will be meeting in Panmunjom.

President of the Republic of Korea remarks that they have established an institutional framework with the KORUS FTA Amendment. He says that their two leaders have agreed to further accelerate the momentum to expand trade and investments and further expand the KORUS alliance to a mutually reciprocal economic alliance. He adds that in regional and global issues, their two countries will continue to work very closely together as strong allies.

President Moon Jae-in states that they have shared in their concerns related to the attack on the oil tankers in the Gulf of Oman and the escalation of tension in the Middle East. He adds that they have agreed to closely cooperate for stability in the Middle East. After that, President Donald Trump says that he is just going to make a very short statement because they are going to the DMZ border. He informs that he will be meeting with Chairman Kim.

President Trump mentions the turmoil going on because of the level of vitriol happening between North and South. He adds that to a large extent, it was North, where there was a lot of risks, threat, and a lot of bad things were happening. He says that that was before he became President. Trump remarks that they are getting back their remains and they got back the hostages. He adds that there have been no ballistic missile tests and no nuclear tests.

A reporter asks President Moon Jae-in about what kind of progress does he expect in the subsequent negotiations between President Trump and Chairman Kim at the DMZ. President Moon Jae-in says that the focus of the dialogue today will be the dialogue between the United States and North Korea. On the third U.S.-North Korea summit, Moon Jae-in says that he believes that how the reunion turns out this afternoon will have a great say on when and whether the U.S.-North Korea summit will happen for the third time.

President Moon Jae-in says that if North Korea goes through the dismantlement of the nuclear complex in Yongbyon, then they will be arriving at the entrance of irreversible, substantive denuclearization. He adds that only then the international community will able to discuss a partial sanctions relief.

A reporter asks Donald Trump does he want to step into North Korea and what could that handshake actually accomplish. He further adds that nothing has changed since Hanoi and North Korea has tested short-range missiles. Trump says that they have made tremendous strides. He says that they have a much greater military now than they had two and a half years ago. On China, he says that they are collecting 25 percent on $250 billion from China. He adds that they have increased the stock market values by more than 50 percent. He ends by saying that President Xi and he had a fantastic meeting and they share a good relationship. Another reporter asks Moon Jae-in that North Korea does not want them to be a mediator in this case. He further adds that whether he trusts President Trump or not.

President Moon Jae-in answers that they are indeed striving to achieve peace through dialogue, but this does not necessarily mean that they will only travel in one direction. He says that either the meeting this afternoon at Panmunjom will become a truly historic, a great moment in the peace process on the Korean Peninsula.
